I am Miranda Took.Let's start with that. My real name, whatever that is, means 'someone who brings happiness and joy'. When I was checking the appendix of a fat old dictionary for names to use in my stories, I came across 'Miranda' which meant someone 'who's happy and admired and loved' and I loved the name instantly. Took- well, remember that hobbit family?- the adventurous exciting kind with a strain of fairy-blood running through them? Well, that's me! Actually, if you know me in real life, you will find I am not really the adventurous type. I am more laid-back, like to stay at home and write or surf, but then, I also love travelling and hanging put with my friends.
I am from India, you might have already noticed that, and I love my country. It's got it's fair share of problems-politics, terrorism, corruption which sometimes makes me feel very frustrated. The next moment I realise I would hardly ever do something to correct the system, I don't have the courage or the will to join politics or something like that, to dare to be different and I wonder if I am hyppocritical. But India also is a great country, with wonderful people and places. I love the Himalayas as well as the beaches of India. And these things never seem to grow old too! I hope to place some of my travelogues in this journal at some point, because that's one of the main thins I write. My other stuff include fanfiction(mostly Harry Potter fanfiction, I am passionate about everything related remotely to Rowling, HP or magic!!!)and small rhymes for my friends!
I am a student of English literature and I love my college, my teachers and my subject, though I sometimes fear I am hopelessly ill-read.I hope to make that up as soon as I can!
